Adopt a Storm Drain in East Isles
Did you know that all storm drains in East Isles empty out into Lake of the Isles? We’re asking you to adopt a storm drain and keep it clear of leaves, trash and debris to reduce water pollution in our beautiful lake.
If you adopt a drain in East Isles or the Wedge, email info@eastisles.org the name and location by Sunday, Oct. 15 for a chance to win valuable prizes from local businesses!
FAQ: There is no cost to adopt a drain. The goal is to remove debris when needed so water can flow through. Leaves sitting in water creates phosphorus which causes green algal blooms in the lake. You can adopt multiple drains, easy to clean and requires very little time. You can name the drains anything you like, see Adopt-a-Drain map for available drains.
Thank you to MWMO for awarding EINA a Community Grant to support this initiative for both East Isles and the Wedge/Lowry Hill East neighborhoods.
