Home Security Rebates
East Isles Neighborhood Association (EINA) offers home security rebates to improve neighborhood safety and prevent crimes by increasing security measures for homes and garages in East Isles. Rebate funds are provided by the City of Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP). The grant program is an initiative of the EINA NRP Committee.
Eligible Applicants
All residential properties in the East Isles neighborhood. Rebates are issued on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available. Rebates will only be issued for eligible improvement expenses incurred within three months of the application date.
Rebate Amount
East Isles NRP funds will rebate up to a maximum of $250 per household (one-time rebate). For multi-unit dwellings of four or more units, the maximum rebate is $1,000. The recipient must pay any project cost in excess of that amount. The rebate cannot exceed your total cost. A rebate is subject to available funds and review of your application; it is not guaranteed.
Eligible Home Security Projects
Purchase and installation of lighting for exterior doorways of residential properties and for fixtures on garages for lighting yards and alleys. Fixtures with motion detectors or dusk to dawn sensors are recommended. Fixtures that are energy efficient and direct light downward to reduce light pollution and glare are strongly encouraged. Rebates will also apply to replacing existing fixtures with energy efficient models.
Purchase and installation of deadbolt locks.
Purchase and installation of home security alarm systems (does not include monthly monitoring service).
