Lake Trash Boom Installed

We gathered at Lake of the Isles before this year’s Summer Social to celebrate installation of a new trash boom capture system! The boom has dual benefits – it will capture trash from entering the lake through a storm drain outfall, and it will raise awareness of how pollutants travel from city streets into our lakes and rivers.

Thanks to all the wonderful partners on this project including the Freshwater Society, City of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, River Network, and Osprey Initiative. And extra special thanks to our Green Team Committee for spearheading East Isles’ partnership in making this happen!
