Meet Henry LaBounta, East Isles neighbor and champion trash picker-upper.
Henry, his wife Barbara and dog Shiner moved to East Isles in 2020. It was not long before Henry, a kayaking enthusiast, paddled around Lake of the Isles, discovered and collected an appalling amount of trash — more than his kayak could hold. From that experience, Henry made neighborhood trash collection a personal mission. Read Henry’s riveting and enlightening story in Southwest Voices, and an interview in the May issue of Hill and Lake Press. Visit Henry’s Facebook group, Friends of Lake of the Isles here. If you have questions or want more information about the harm to Lake of the Isles caused by trash, email Henry at cleanlakesmpls@gmail.com.
Thank you, East Isles neighbor and Green Team Chair Ellen van Iwaarden, for inviting Henry LaBounta to the Green Team’s October meeting.
